The last beer of the Christmas/New Year festive season. It's 2020 vintage. The beer is opaque black with a ruby tint when portrayed against light. Carbonation is shy and hides fast. A tawny cotton head emerges on the top and reaches half a finger's yardstick. A hair-thin ring adorns the surface longer. Otherwise, the rim of the glass is clean. The nose falls in love with the dark-fruit siren song that it's composed of plum mash, prune and fig. The smaller seductions include brown sugar and vanilla. The scent gives also nuances that imitate barrel aging, it's simultaneously both like fruity Bourbon and soft mature rum. I have to check the label for any indication but it looks like the beer is not barrel aged. In that case, the mimicking impression is beautiful! đŸ–€đŸ€Ž The taste identity is bold and assertive: relatively sweet plum jam, bags of prune and date deal constantly with each other on who's taking the lead in this show. Syrup, brown sugar and molasses acquiesce to a place in the back seat. I can still recognize vanilla, it's sophisticated and not even timid. Barrel signals its existence, as well, now the coin tossing benefits Bourbon. What is interesting here is that the ABV of 17 % remains astonishingly well undercover, nothing chemical coming to the tastebuds but an unmistaken warming sensation lingers neatly on the tongue. The body is big. The finish tweaks narrower with a sharper tail. The basic foundation contains prune and date but drops most of the other complexities out, except vanilla that wants to hang on 'til the end. Even alcohol gives a bit of ethanol at this stage but still in moderation. The aftertaste toasts with the drinking toad and feels superior. The mouthfeel is robust, rather soft but not entirely rounded, heavy, warming and slightly boozy. The beautiful descriptive adjectives should include, as well, oily, sticky, viscous, thick and chewy. I still want to stick to barrel aging although I admit being wrong but it's so evident here... Small bottle, big beer! I liked it that way! All in all, this is adorable. đŸ–€đŸ€ŽđŸ–€

Sysimustaa ja paksua. LÀhes olematon vaahto. Tuoksu runsaan kuivahedelmÀinen. Makea, runsaan luumuinen. Voltit pysyvÀt aisoissa ihan kiitettÀvÀsti.
