Gouden Carolus Indulgence is a limited series of beers brewed every year with varying content. Funken - German for spark - is the 6th taste expression released under this label. This version elegantly combines the German tradition of ‘Rauchbier’ (smoked beer) with the well-balanced tastes of our Belgian beer culture. During the brewing process, some of the malt is replaced by ‘peated malt’. This produces an amber beer with an aromatic, spicy taste of hops, enhanced by a mellow fruitiness and a subtle hint of smoke that lingers.
