BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout (Bourbon BA) COUNTRY: USA ALCOHOL (ABV): 10.1% COLOUR (EBC): Cola black (77.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - SCENT: Lots of dry roasted coffee, a touch of softer cream and figs. FOAM: Thick bubbled and slow. All around brown with slightest touch of white cream. GREY’S VIEW Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with Dionysys Coffee from Elements Coffee Roasters (ME). Ok, here we dive! . . . Aaand It’s not ready yet. Damn it! In my opinion, the coffee hasn’t blended to that Bourbon yet. They arrive as separate portions yet trying their best. Oomph and damn this. Ok, let’s turn the rock even louder in our ears! Taste has lots of coffee and some fresh figs. Also dry hardbread and a feel of rye can be find easily. Body is full on creamy, with good amount of soft and large carbonation and overall easy mouthfeel. Aftertaste has some rosted coffee, some mixed case of chocolate with a leafy touch and dark chocolate kind of bitterish end. OTHER NOTES: Not the best or most ready brew from this brewery. Tastes doesn’t meet the mouthfeel and the result feels like a mish-mash. Needs more time. BOTTLED 2/3/2020 TASTED 28/10/2020
