BBA Black, eli Bourbon-viskitynnyreissä 6kk oleillut Salaman Black IPA. Mustanruskeaa, todella reilulla ruskealla vaahdolla varustettuna. Tuoksussa vaniljaa, paahteista mallasta ja bourbonia, totta kai. Maku aika makea, katkerot hukkuu nyt pahasti tynnyröinnon makeampien sävyjen alle. Pieni kuivankatkera loppu kuitenkin lopulta löytyy. Runko melko tukeva, tahmean makea suutuntuma, maltilliset hiilihapot.

Paahteinen, siirappinen, kahvinen, kaakaonibsinen. Loppua kohden löytyy vähän makeutta ja hillittyä viskiä. Jälkimaussa suuta kuivattavaa tammisuutta, ruskeaa sokeria, viskiä. Todella tyylikäs ja tasapainoinen.

Loads of deep taste in Salama’s newcomer bourbon. Full of taste, this beer takes its time

Something dark for the Father's Day evening. Brilliant black beer with average carbonation sets a light beige, silky head that exceeds first one finger. Soon a frazil-icy lacing and a thin lace ring waft on the surface. A number of minuscule dots mess the glass. Bourbon tickles my nose intriguingly and leaves a soaked woody nuance of the barrel lingering in the air. Faint raw chocolate and a coffeeish hint add their peculiar twists to the olfactory provision. The taste is really unique: raw cacao powder and a suggestion of roasted coffee beans correlate with arrogant Bourbon and the good creeping pressure of whisky soaked barrel. A whisper of blackcurrant can also be picked. The gustatory supply is interestingly unpredictable when releasing nuances that don't necessarily match the standard universe of a Black IPA. The body is medium to medium-full. The beer finishes with strong whisky, generous barrel punch, harsh raw cacao powder and a transient hint of mocha. The aftertaste opens the bung of the barrel and lets the whisky aroma mesmerize the tastebuds for a fairly long time. The mouthfeel is fairly strong and even a bit harsh as well as unapologetically barrel aged. Notwithstanding, it's not really alcoholic but rather a bit desserty. Interesting and absolutely appealing, most likely my first barrel aged Black IPA.
