The bio-luminescent jellyfish of deep cove are well known for unexpectedly lighting up the dark waters with a phosphorescent glow. This porter has the power to do the same for beer drinkers who are looking for a flash of the unexpected that won’t soon be forgotten. Tasting notes: warming and sweet, toasted coconut, rich chocolate, light roast malt, deep mahogany colour. 5.8% abv

Snow, or what we loosley refer to as snow, is finally hitting the ground here. In honor of the white stuff I'll drink some black stuff. Ok I was going to anyway and it just happened to start snowing but I'll
raise a glass to winter anyway.
Before I can even form an opinion of the appearances, a wonderful aroma heavy in coconut and chocolate. As soon as the glass is full I get set my nose to work exploring these scents. An oily but light coffee note sits behind the toasted coconut and semisweet chocolate. Very faintly I can sense licorice and roast barley and what is interpreted by my nose as an herbal earthy hop.
The color of this porter is actually a deep rich ruby. It wears a finger and a half singed cream head after the pour.
Sweet, rich, creamy, and full bodied. The coconut and chocolate are spectacularly abundant and complement the sweetness beautifully.
Ample flavour without going too far. At the back of the sip there is a gentle glimmer of roast barley and fainter still, coffee.
Well played Deep Cove.
