In the tradition of the robust beers of the Ruhr district, this export golden lager is malt forward and moderately hopped.

Re-visit review.
Simply gorgeous golden color with a small tenacious head of tightly packed small bubbles.
In my previous review I said it seemed very much like a pilsner to me but I know the difference now and while it does share all best characteristics, it takes everything a bit farther.
Lovely fresh bread and cracker malt is countered evenly with a delightful spicy, floral and earthy noble hops aroma.
The flavours are just the same. A little bit of sweetness from the malts and the bread and biscuit tastes. The hops behave the way they should and as described in the aromas. Easy going beer with a bit more to offer than pale lagers.

This tasted to me almost like a pilsner and I do love a good pilsner. Nice malty base, and I do mean nice. A mildly fruity almost spicy (like saaz) hop bite. Well balanced, flavourful, clean, Very good. I dig it.
