Mmm the more beer i try the more decerning i become. Frothy bubble head, malty rich and very chocolatey. Very sweet and not bitter. A little thin for what i lust for in a dark beer. But at 7.75% it makes me nice an warm inside, wich i love.

It is a milk stout kinda night. Spinnakers has made some very tasty stouts so I have high hopes for this one. A opaque dark beer that barely reveals it's brown colour with my flashlight test. It had a nice two finger, loose tan head that shrank quickly to a thin layer that stuck around for most of the drink. It formed lace rings at levels where I paused between sips. Rich milk chocolate and mild roast malt scents fill the nose, but a fair bit of banana too I think. I hope I'm wrong about that. But it smells like banana. It's sweet like a milk stout should be, creamy and boasts massive chocolate. It has mild roast flavours that add more bitterness than they suggest. Sadly I think I'm picking up a fair bit of banana. Slightly tangy, which I assume is from the hops but it's only 10 IBU so not a lot of flavour to confirm or deny that. Full bodied and soft in the mouth. It was ok but that banana is putting me off. I'll try again in a few months to see if I can get a different batch. Maybe that banana is unintended.
