MAURY MABLE’S An Irish Stout Maury Mable’s Irish Stout is brewed once a year for St. Paddy’s day to honor the legacy of Maury Mable aka “The Pied Piper of Decatur”. Mable first marched through the streets of Decatur, GA, on St. Patrick’s Day in 1895 to celebrate his ancestral homeland and continued to lead what became an annual Decatur parade and tradition for over 50 years. This dry Irish stout is rich with flavor from the roasted malts and has subtle hints of dark chocolate. Before you finish your first pint you’ll be shouting Sláinte! Practicing social distancing on outdoor patio at The Foundry Growler bar. Brew was on tap. Was drawn so that it would have a small head but was still very foamy. Dark brown opaque in color. Creamy and sweet. Has some chocolate notes, especially toward the end. Pretty strong amount of flavor. Very little bitterness. Sweet finish again with the chocolate coming forward. Very good.
