This beer does away with Vanilla and spices common in Christmas ales and delivers hops and bitterness. A new style of beer developed in the Pacific Northwest, this CDA is hopped like an IPA but is dark in colour. Local hops were used to build the hop flavour and aroma.

Luscious dark brown beer wearing a lush frothy fawn head. The head shrinks ever so slowly but leaves ample sticky lacing.
The soldier on the bottle is a good warning of the assault on the nose this thing executes. Burnt toffee IPA. A chocolate toffee front line hammered with hop grenades. The hops smell of resins and bitterness.
The flavour is hop forward but not as aggressive as it may have seemed like it would be. Mostly for bitterness and still resinous but not over powering the chocolatey caramel rich malt flavors. It's actually very nicely put together. Plenty of bitterness but still maltier over all.
