Chocolate-Hazelnut Marshmallow Spread, United States
4.3
Muddy, deep dark brown beer with timid carbonation sets a mediocre, light tan head that melts rapidly away. Both the top and the glass are left entirely spotless. The name of the beer invites me to anticipate sweet candy-like flavors. The first sniff gives me hope: I get a good amount of milk chocolate, cacao nibs and Rocky Road cake. The nutty touch is rather hefty. Candy-like nuances are indeed present already in the scent. The taste portrays dark chocolate, bags of cacao nibs and rum flavored pralines. Marshmallow is relatively subdued, which is probably a merit since it keeps the sweetness in control. I can also detect a tad hazelnut, mudcake and a small amendment of sweet brownie. A remote delicate spin of vanilla whirls around the tastebuds. Massive pastry-like components! 🖤🖤 The body is medium-full. That doesn't exactly meet the quality criteria at 12.8 %. The beer ends with abundant dark chocolate with a twist of raw chocolate, bags of cacao beans and a suggestion of vanilla. The aftertaste is narrower than the actual gustatory provision but still strikes with force. The aftertaste gives the tastebuds a reason to smile but then moves quickly to the sidelines. The mouthfeel is medium-thick, considerably pastry-like and desserty as well as hence lip-glueing. Overall, mouthwatering and balanced but something is missing.
