Flight 4/4. Brilliant, black beer with a neat, fawn lace ring wafting on the surface. The nose receives licorice, accompanied by a suggestion of tar. Licorice intensifies on the tongue but is still fairly subtle and followed by faintly roasted malt and a coffeeish note. The light-bodied beer finishes with roasted malt, a pinch of coffee beans and a distant idea of licorice. The aftertaste vanishes hastily from the mouth. The mouthfeel is moderately roasty, light, clean and simple.
