Self-made flight of Meads 4/4. Untappd users have given a huge 4.64 for this one. As high as that of Straw Berry White. The fourth and last Mead is, of course, murky and deep burgundy. There's no head on the glass. Very modest variation from the previous three: I find thick blackberry juice, abundant berry-rich liqueur made of blackberry and raspberry, a decent addition of unsweetened boysenberry mash and faint bubblegum. The taste receptors enjoy relatively hefty blackberry liqueur, a bit of raspberry mash, red grape jam and vanishing blueberry. The body is full but leaves an illusion of a slightly less full body than the rest. The Mead's long aftertaste offers loads of blackberry jam and a bit of red grape nectar. The mouthfeel is surely sappy but simultaneously distantly tart. It's also full, deep, thick, sticky and lip-glueing. Interestingly, the mouthfeel is, furthermore, remotely vinous. Still an excellent Mead but I ran out of superlatives so I leave it as it is.

Pienen torstain bottle share. Tällä kertaa Superstitionin meadeja neljää erilaista, joista valitsin tämän black berry white -version. 12,50€ 6cl. UT 4,64. Tuoksu on tietenkin odotetun makea ja kypsänmarjainen. Vanhaa mummon vadelmamarmeladia, sellaista joka on kellariin unohtunut vuosia sitten. Marjalikööriä. Hunajaa. Maussa makeus korostuu entisestään. Ylikypsän, hilloisen vadelman lisäksi tummansuklaista ja hunajaista makeutta. Paksu suutuntuma ja alkoholi hieman lämmittää poskia. Olen nyt muutamaa eri meadia maistanut ja edelleenkin nämä vaativat paneutumista. Laadukasta ehdottomasti, hienostunuttakin ja varmasti tämäkin on lajinsa huipputuote. Itselleni nämä eivät vaan anna minkäänlaista vau-fiilistä - enkä rehellisesti ymmärrä miten pullo voi maksaa 70-80€ Euroopassa. Tietenkin pidin tästä, mutta ei se riitä.
