This is a nice bourbon barrel. Has a bourbon taste (surprise). Then starts with a strong oak (tasty) presence that gives it a light vanilla taste. Add in some dark roasted malts & light chocolate. Medium+ thickness. What’s that give you? A damn good good bourbon barrel stout. Overall it meets all the criteria with nothing crazy added. My only complaint is it cost me $9 for a 12 oz bottle. Enjoyed every sip. Saved this for a couple beers to get it as my 3500. So I splurged for the $9 just for that #. Wahoo!!!! 4k next

Getting chocolate in the aroma. Some oak from the barrel aging as well as some bourbon. A little bit of vanilla sweetness rounding things out. In the taste, I'm getting chocolate and bourbon first. There's some oak that follows along with some vanilla to sweeten and balance it out. Maybe some brown sugar in here too. I don't remember how I rated the non-BBA version of this one, but I feel like this one is way better. Very well balanced beer, with a fairly thick mouthfeel and an appropriately lower carbonation. Fairly pricey compared to the regular version, but worth a try for sure. I wouldn't buy it again at its price point, which I believe is around $7 a bottle. 4.25/5

Good imperial stout with high ABV. Very dark but without a whole lot of character.
