And now something rare: Traditional Lambic of season 17|18. Bottled on April 11, 2018. Where was I then? Probably at work since it was Wednesday. Best before is October 26, 2038. That must be a guesstimate. Limpid, deep copper beer. Carbonation is minimal. A meager, white lace ring is born on the top, just to fade out hastily. Then the surface is flat still. And the scent... Oh mama! It's serene. Unspoilt. No gimmicks. No flavorings. Vinous, wild yeast in abundance. The very first impression is barnyardy but it vanishes rushedly. Loooove this! 🧡🧡🧡 If I'm forced to break down the olfactory identity — and of course I am, it's my mind that forces me to do so — I would list dry white wine, wild yeast, sour apple, orange pulp, leather, perhaps also a suggestion of white grape. Wheat malt plays its tricks at the basement. Dare I taste this? Hell yeah! I have the whole 75 cl bottle. Geee! The gustatory profile is sour, vinous, funky. It's simultaneously both complex and simple: simple in the sense as the noble taste package is not distorted with any flavorings. No maceration. Just the real thing. Dry white wine, brut sparkling wine, sour apple, gooseberry, orange zest, maybe a whisper of peach as well can be identified. This is beautiful! Exactly, the real thing! Did I say that already? If I had a friend who is a dedicated wine person and refuses to like beers, this would be my choice for him/her to open the Gates of Heaven. The body is medium. How come are these Lambics more robust than the ABV would normally suggest? I haven't actually noticed such a phenomenon before. Gotta pay attention in the future. The finish is highly vinous and juicy. No need to repeat the flavor package, it's still the same. The split second of divinity, the aftertaste drinks up the sky, all of heaven is in its arms, I know the reason why. The mouthfeel is medium-full, funky, Belgiany, vinous, no doubt about it. This is tart, puckering, intriguingly juicy, even springly. Most interestingly, this is highly elegant, mature, surprisingly round for a Lambic, reasonably full of character. Despite the early signal of barnyardiness, this is absolutely not earthy. Not at all. Very good stuff. Maybe not a Mona Lisa but very inspiring and flavorful. These are the moments I remember why life is good. 🧡🧡🧡 If anything critical needs to be said, it's complexity. Like I said, this is elegant, even gentle, and as round as a Lambic can be. Nevertheless, even though this puts forward a good variety of flavors, complexity is something that I would like to experience even more.

3F Tasting Huikean maukas kokonaisuus. Upea sherrytynnyröinti. Puuta, nahkaa ja happamuuta. Todella hyvä.
