Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #14 Bottled in 2020 (I can't make out the month and day) Maple syrup, rye whiskey, coffee and smoky bacon with notes of chocolate and oak in the aroma. Taste has tons of maple syrup to start, followed by coffee, rye whiskey, and finishing with smoky bacon and oak primarily in the late finish and aftertaste. This is holding up very well so far. The body is full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. I thought I enjoyed the Hipster Brunch Stout I had the other day. This is next level compared to that. I'll have to give this a high 4.75/5

Ever feel like you're experiencing deja vu? Same beer as last night, 2019 this time. Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #22 Bottled on 11-13-2019 Coffee, maple syrup, smoky bacon and rye whiskey, in the aroma in that order. Taste has coffee and maple syrup first, followed by rye whiskey and smoky bacon. I feel like the flavors came through in a different order than last night's 2020 vintage. The body is full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. Again, this is a tasty beer. I have nothing to add to what I said about it last night. High 4.5/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #21 Bottled on 10-26-2020 Rye whiskey, oak, coffee, smoky bacon and maple syrup in the aroma. Taste has maple syrup, rye whiskey, smoky bacon, coffee and oak. Same in both the aroma and taste, but they show up in a different order. The body is full with a lower amount of carbonation. Definitely one of, and perhaps, the best distributed barrel aged stout available in Michigan. The complexity and balance is amazing. High 4.5/5

Advent Calendar Day #21 2019 vintage, bottled on 11-13-2019 Whiskey, rye spiciness, smoky bacon and maple syrup in the aroma. Taste has maple syrup, rye whiskey, coffee and finishes with smoky bacon. The bacon and whiskey linger in the aftertaste. The body is medium-full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. This is one of the best distributed stouts in Michigan. Year after year it's consistently delicious. I just picked up a can to add to my ongoing vertical (5 years now, 2017 through 2021). 4.75/5

They raised the abv this year, so let's see how it is this time around. Rye whiskey smoky bacon and subtle coffee in the aroma. Taste has maple syrup, smoky bacon, rye whiskey and coffee in that order. Smooth and delicious with a great balance of flavors. Not sure offhand how it compares to previous years, but what I'm drinking is amazing. One of the best distributed stouts in Michigan. High 4.5/5
