Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #18
Bottled on 11-19-2019
For the last 2 years, this one has ended my advent calendar. The streak has been broken.
Vanilla first, then chocolate and coffee notes in the aroma. Taste has smooth, flavorful vanilla first, chocolate and coffee notes follow, some lighter notes of dark fruits next and oak in the finish and aftertaste. Still delicious and the vanilla hasn't faded at all over the past 4 years.
The body is full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation.
I honestly think this is better (at this point) than regular Black Note. The body is better and the vanilla just sends it over the top. I'm not sure I can give this a perfect rating, but it's a super high 4.75/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #28 (final day)
Bottled on 11-19-2019
Vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and oak in the aroma. Taste has vanilla and bourbon blended together beautifully, followed by chocolate, coffee notes and oak.
The body is full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. Very smooth and just glides across the tongue.
Great beer to end the calendar with. I looked back and this one also ended my first on in 2019. Well, it's been fun and a tasty adventure. I can't wait until next year. It's about an hour early for my timezone, but...
Merry Christmas! Cheers!

Advent Calendar Day #27, final day
2019 vintage
Vanilla, bourbon and chocolate in the aroma. Taste has vanilla and bourbon first, followed by chocolate, oak and roasted malts. Very similar to regular Black Note with the right amount of vanilla to add a little extra.
The body is full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation.
Delicious finish. It's been fun as usual. I'll definitely do this again next year. I'm also planning on doing a Christmas in July Advent Calendar. In 2020, I did a lager Advent Calendar. This coming July, it'll be either Mexican, Belgian or German beers. Which do you think I should do? Either way, this one is a 4.75/5
Merry Christmas everyone!

Side by side review with regular Black Note
Vanilla, bourbon and a light amount of dark fruits in the aroma. Taste has vanilla right up front, followed by bourbon, a little bit of oak and finishes with some dark fruits, but not as much as the regular version (I'm fine with that).
Body is medium-full with an appropriately lower amount of carbonation. I love them both for different reasons. 4.75/5
