Both new beer, and new brewery added to Pint Please with this one! Bottle. Bottled on 7.10.2019 Temperature: +10,5 C Amber-colored beer, with good clarity. Quick head and quite a much of carbonation bubbles can be seen rising towards the surface. The texture seems surprisingly light: 3,75/5 The nose has some peat aroma, perhaps this is the from the barrel? So most likely this is oak-aged in Scotch Whisky barrels... Sweet fruity aromas with a touch of alcohol and some earthy hues make the rest. Not really the most complex BW: 3,25/5 Mouthfeel is medium with noticeably, sharp bitterness that eventually merges with the beers backbone...however totally lacks the multilayerness the best Barleywines have, but really there is nothing wrong with this. Just too easy. And this is extremely young as well. Should have put this away for at least few months, but I just wanted Barleywine so bad😄3,25/5 Taste has a milder peat flavor that was in the scent, and that's a good thing. Then there is fruity sweetness, again, and some malty flavor. Very mild oaky touch comes in the aftertaste, together with more noticeable alcohol warmth. Ok, and the beer even has a bit more complexity, than what it has shown up to this point: 11,25/15 Perhaps too young, but all the pieces that make good Barleywine are here. The only thing I'm not so sure if it fits, is that peaty aroma/flavor. But the brewing process clearly works and I'm looking forward to taste more beers from this brewery if I get them on my hands someday: 15,25/20 =36,75/50
