Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #16 Bottled in 2019 Apparently we're gonna do Willettized 2 days in a row. I'm alright with that. Coffee and bourbon first in the aroma, followed by slight chocolate notes and oak. Taste has coffee first, followed by bourbon, oak, roasted malts and a hint of chocolate in the late mid-palate. The coffee's definitely been stronger, but it's still the first to show up. The body is medium-full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. It's crazy to me how a 2017 bottle barely has any coffee left, but 2 years newer still had plenty of coffee. Cellaring beer is a weird science. 4.5/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #11. I missed a day due to accidentally including a non-barrel aged beer. I'll make it up in the next few days. Bourbon and coffee in the aroma. Taste has a great blend of coffee and bourbon from the barrel aging. Some oak comes through in the late mid-palate and lingers into the finish. The body is medium-full-ish with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. Definitely a steal at around $13 for a 4-pack. Damn near perfect. A bit thicker body would take this to world class. High 4.75/5
