Mexican Chocolate Yeti
9.5% Imperial Stout
A very special, and very limited, entry in our venerable Yeti Series, Mexican Chocolate Yeti is a sensory delight. We’ve added a variety of spices, vanilla and coffee to Yeti Imperial Stout to create our version of a traditional champurrado drink. Spiced chocolate drinks have been part of Aztec and Mayan cuisine and culture for centuries, but they have yet to be paired with a Yeti!

Well, since my son-in-law and I are out of Duo beers, we're going to try this. Both have a Yeti but different kinds. Mine is a Mexican Chocolate while his is a Maple Pecan. At least we get to visit and I get to see my daughter and grandchildren. Super dark color, opaque brown. Small head that just disappears. Aroma gives a spicy dark chocolate, a bit of a peppery nose burn. Texture is soft and gentle but not on the creamy side. Flavor immediately has a peppery spice with a chili-like burn. Dark cocoa flavor, intense cinnamon along with the spicy pepper. Small traces of vanilla in the background to smooth out the powerful flavors. As the middle recedes, the hot, spicy pepper becomes more dominant, dry cocoa still present, slowly drifting into a very long tingling and lasting finish. A pint can of this is challenging, probably best shared. But overall I enjoyed every drop. Mexican chocolate can introduce me to flavors I've never experienced, like Champorado, and this one did. Enjoyed it very much.

Gloriously chocolatey with hints of roadted malt. Quite rich in flavor, which masks the high ABV%

Maukas imp, ei tosin pärjää originaalille. Odotin että olisi ollut poltetta, mutta ei.

OLUT: Mexican Chocolate Yeti PANIMO: Great Divide Brewing Co. OLUTTYYPPI: Imperial Stout MAA: Yhdysvallat VAHVUUS: 9,5% VÄRI (EBC): Kahvinmusta (80.0) KATKEROT (EBU/IBU): 55.0 TUOKSU: Kanelia. Ugh. Lämmetessään suklaa ja pieni mausteisuus nousee kartalle. VAAHTO: Voimallinen. Tumman ruskea ja kauttaaltaan pienikuplainen. Kestävä. GREY’S VIEW Ensipuraisu. No hemmetti, mikä jottei! Maut ovat kohdillaan. Maitokahvia, kahvipapua, voimallista ja lämmittävää meksikolaistyylistä mausteisuutta (chili, kaneli, kumina, paprika, jne.), rakeaa mallaspohjaa, melkolailla myös mineraalisuutta. Runko on kevyt, helppo, kuohkean maltainen ja kyllä tuo mausteisuus on mukavaa laatua; antaa kivasti potkua kokonaisuuteen, viemättä oluelta sen omaa luonnetta pois. Jälkimaussa huuliatahmaava, paahdetun fariinisokerinen, edelleen vankan maltainen, kepeän suklainen ja pirteän kukkainen. MUUTA MAINITTAVAA: Champurrado (= suklainen ja paksu Meksikolaislähtöinen aamiaisjuoma) makuja mukaileva Yeti. Hienosti toteutettu spesiaali Yeti. Maut ovat simppelit, mutta riittoisat, eikä tämä ammu yli lainkaan. Suklaata olisin toki itse ruuvannut vielä kovemmalle. Valmista nautittavaa, ilman kulmia. CANNED 18/9/2019 TASTED 11/4/2020

Kanelia lukuunottamatta oikein herkullinen yeti. Tulisuutta on aika sopivasti. Kaneli ei vain itselle niin maistu.

Chocolate and peppers of some sort in the aroma. Taste has chocolate and peppers as well. The peppers linger into the aftertaste. I like this. Medium to medium-full body with an appropriately lower amount of carbonation. Solid 4/5
