Oikein hyvä, persoonallinen imppi. Tuoksu on klassista imperial stoutia, jopa ehkä hieman taddy porteria. Paahtunutta karamellimallasta ja omenaista happamuutta, lupaa hyvää. Maku on melko kuiva ja katkera, erittäin paahtunut. Jälkimaussa tuntuu ensin erittäin vahva humalointi ja lopuksi lämmittävä, melkein konjakkinen tunne. Suuhun jää maistumaan tumma suklaa ja paahtunut mallas.

Firstly, it should be noted that there are TWO versions of this Imperial Stout on offer at the festival. The one named here and the 'cold brew' version which I tried. Same 9.5% abv but added coffee which really increases the bitterness. A dark impenetrable brown/black liquid of substance, very much a sipping beer and my night cap. Nose is coffee and alcohol almost that of Tia Maria. The taste is smooth luxurious coffee, dark chocolate and a little liquorice all in a slightly stiffer liquid than that of a weaker brew. The flavour and strength are on steroids, warming and comforting on the swallow. A very very nice finish. Good night Shrewsbury.
