On this Duo event, Ryan is rating his 1,999 and 2,000 reviews. Congratulations! Our first side by side comparisons. Both from Prairie Artisan Ales. Basic Betty and Basic Rebecca. Going to be fun. First up is Basic Becca. Started with a moderately high very tan head, starting to dissipate. Aroma is of pumpkin, spice, cinnamon, clove. Heavy texture but still somewhat crisp. Spices are up front. Allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, even the clove are all present and detectable. A whiff of coriander in the background. Can't say I've picked up on any Caraway, but I'm not that familiar with it. Liquid definitely coats the mouth but not in a sticky way. Moves into the finish I get chocolate. I know it's not supposed to be there but I get it. Spices melt away till only the cinnamon remains. And now the 11% alcohol shows up, giving a warmthness to the throat and body. I must note that Ryan picked up on the Caraway and felt that it was unnecessary and distracting. I did not find it. I did find it disappointing that the pumpkin was absent. It's a pumpkin beer, where is it? Still gets a good rating but expected it to be much better.

Had this last night. Review didn't save. I enjoyed it quite a bit and I'm glad I tried it. 4/5
