Nut Brown
5.0% Brown Ale
AleSmith’s interpretation of this classic English-style ale is smooth, dark, and rich. A variety of specialty malts produce a brilliant dark brown color and a wonderful malt complexity. A light dose of East Kent Goldings and Styrian Goldings hops from England balance the malt sweetness without adding bitterness to the flavor profile.

Paahteisen maltainen tuoksu. Maku on kevyen paahteinen ja maltainen. Voisi jopa sanoa raikkaaksi Brown Ale olueksi.

Advent Calendar 2023, Day 1. Let's start cautiously, therefore a Brown Ale. Despite giving me an easy start, I happen to like Brown Ales, especially the imperial versions. This is, nevertheless, not imperial but a standard 5% brew. Oh yes. Relatively murky, deep dark mahogany beer. Like black coffee with a drop of milk. Lively carbonation builds a light beige head, like old paper. The texture is beautiful: billowy moussy. The retention lasts. And lasts... The nose loves the ample nuances: hazelnut, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, a whiz of lactose. A tiny roasty element lingers in the background. So far, so good. If I anticipate a sweet punch, the beer takes me in a different direction: the nutty component intensifies significantly while the chocolate dwindles. The cacao nibs are still present, not sweet, rather natural, crushed raw. Dark cookie, roasted malt, lactose, a whisper of vanilla and faint dry grass accompany the lead artists. The body measures light to light-medium. Not bad for the ABV. The finish is roasty, nutty and rich in raw cacao. Bids a soft farewell to my tastebuds. The mouthfeel is light or plus, soft, smooth, moderately roasty and fairly classical. Dryness is really marginal. Easy it is, I could sink several of these, especially together with food. Not a symphonic masterpiece but an enjoyable piece anyway.

Mieletön tuoksu, kaakao maistuu selvästi. Aivan loistava Brown Ale
