Advertised as a “German inspired IPA” using German hops & malts as part of their “Leaves of grass series”.
This definitely hits the mark with a strong grassy hop taste. Has a nice bitterness to go with it. This is not a normal IPA from a taste perspective
I was thrilled to find a new Bells. As usual they didn’t disappoint.

Trying this one on tap. Definitely a bit sweeter and that's a good thing. Very tasty and still very unique. Based on the draft version, I'll bump this up to a 4.25/5

The first of the new Leaves of Grass series of beers, inspired by Walt Whitman. This is an IPA made with 100% German malts and hops.
Grassy hop aroma with some citrus notes behind that. Taste has grassy hops with a slight bit of a piney taste as well. Definitely an interesting flavor and bitterness to it, likely due to the German malts and hops used. I don't think I've had an IPA with those before. There are notes of citrusy flavors in the background, but I can't pick out which fruits. Enjoyable and unique. I'd grab a single again. 3.75/5
