Klara Vappen!
Best before 31.5.2021
Temperature: +13,5 C
Pours with a very dark brown color almost no foam. And even the little head took some time to form but once it does, it stays. And oh boy, is the texture thick or what! Extremely syrupy like: 4/5
The aroma of this one is just exactly one could hope from 14% ABV Imperial Stout with barrel aging: this plasts you with hefty Bourbon-like vanilla and oak, alcohol, licorice, coffee, plums and other darker fruits, sugar surypu sweetness... I mean, way! Brilliant and awesome. I could sniff this all day long: 4,75/5
Mouthfeel is heavy, again suryp-like with alcohol clearly present. Very low carbonation. Not much bitterness, much more malty slick and oily: 3,25/5
Taste is also on the sweeter side with plenty of malty and residual sweetness. Bourbon, vanilla, darker fruits, and then coffee. Sadly, not nearly as complex as what the scent promised: 10/15
Too much oily sweetness that dominates the beer. Although not cloyingly sweet which is good. Still, I think this needs more bitterness and roastiness to be more complex and balanced: 15/20
=37/50
