Aika hyvä olut hellepäivälle. Maku kyllä kotimaisista vehniksistä erittäin hyvä.

Mukavan raikas hellepäivän juoma. Keveydessään helposti kulautettava.

This Helsinki-based brewery and restaurant has organized a competition in which its staff was divided into two teams: girls and boys. The teams were given a task to brew a beer. The amount and, I suppose, the ABV were given, otherwise the teams had free hands to brew whatever style they wanted. The beer that is first sold out, is the winner. I taste now the boys' team's product. The beer looks impenetrable and peach-nectar-colored. The lively, quick carbonation builds a pure white, frogspawn-looking head that exceeds one finger. The frog-offspring shrinks gradually to a neat, small-bubbled layer of long retention. The withdrawing foam leaves several small splashes on the glass. The scent is very fresh with a tad orange zest and lemon pulp, accompanied by incredibly fresh wheat. Very often, almost always in effect, the wheat malt is more or less stuffy -- not now. I suppose that the substantially distant nuance of spruce needles brings in freshness to the tastebuds. The palate follows the same route: lemon zest and bitter orange peel constitute the skeleton of the taste. A small dollop of squeezed orange, some recognizeable wheat malt and a distant note of ginger accompany in the immediate proximity. A bit of rosemary lingers on the taste receptors, it must be the source of spruce aroma in the fragrance. The light-bodied beer ends with an interesting cocktail of lemon peel, lemon pulp, bitter orange peel, wheat malt and rosemary. The finish is still very refreshing and summery. Its duration is medium. The mouthfeel is refreshing, summery and relatively light. It's also remotely tart and slightly dry. This is an excellent Witbier! The girls' team's beer will be on my agenda next week, provided it's not finished...
