I came several kilometers to the outskirts of Trastevere to Birrificio Marconi just to taste their own beers. When I'm zooming the taps, I see none of Marconi's own beers. I'm like wtf. The guy apologizes that "they don't have any Birrificio Marconi beers available at the moment"... Ok. Then, something else. 😒 This beer is from Rome. A Fruited Sour Ale with passionfruit, ginger and cinnamon. Let's see how it rocks. The beer colors translucent, yellow. A snow-white fluffy head grows three fingers tall. Retention is relatively long. The retreating foamy hat shrinks to a creamy lace ring on the top and messes the rim of the glass seriously. Ginger and passionfruit merge into a balanced medley in the air. There's also something citrusy, very zippy, as if lemon zest and yuzu. Very juicy. The tastebuds like zesty passionfruit, lemon pulp and a bit of squeezed ginger. Can you squeeze ginger? Or rather grate it? Whatever. Cinnamon is truly distant, after a while actually gone. The body is light minus. The finish is a combination of passionfruit and lemon juice. The aftertaste lingers around the tastebuds for long. The mouthfeel is light, zesty, juicy and zippy. It's also somewhat acidic, decently tart and merely modestly puckering.
