2021 Christmas Advent Beer Day 4 One of my favourite styles of beer, the humble Baltic Porter. I always enjoy opening a Baltic porter as they have a very distinct aroma. If the aroma is right then you know you’re on to a winner. Chocolate, coffee and dark fruits. Get that in the first whiff and I’m happy. Drinks so easily, it’s a very smooth beer. Leaning on the sweet side with alcohol warmth coming through, chocolate certainly dominates. Nice roasty undertones and the distinctive metallic dark fruit bittersweet finish.

Tuoksussa kaakaota, kahvia ja lakritsia. Suutuntuma keskihiilihappoinen ja pehmeä. Maussa kahvia, kaakaota, lakritsia, paahdetta ja alkoholia. Jälkimaku hieman karvas ja kuiva. Harmi kun tulee alkoholia läpi. Alku lupasi enemmän, mutta kyllä ainakin itselleni tuo alkoholi maussa vähentää nautintoa.

Pettymys. Helppo mutta verottaa makua.

Dark Baltic Porter with a very generous and creamy foam head. Roasted malts rule with this one. Subtle cocoa and coffee with oily smoothness. Surprisingly low sweetness for a Baltic Porter, just right level for me. Would be great but the boozy tones push trough too much. Warming 😁. Mellow and lightly drying finish.
