Clear, glowingly yellow beer with timid, regular-duration carbonation frees a white, velvety head that fails to reach half a finger's height and settles down to a thin lace ring within a rather short period.
The scent shows brut sparkling wine, a bit of lemon pulp and faint carambola. Kiwifruit I fail to find among the olfactory elements.
The brut sparkling wine with a pinch of wine yeast features distinctly also on the tongue. A good amount of lemon pulp, a tad lemon peel and a dollop of squeezed zesty grapefruit accompany the vinous package. Shy kiwifruit gets a sour dress and steps out of the shadows but won't take the center role. It makes friends with other introvert fruit such as pineapple and carambola.
The body is astonishingly light for 7.0 %. The beer ends with a bittersour fruit salad of lemon peel, grapefruit and kiwifruit, seasoned with a pinch of wine yeast. The aftertaste lingers on tongue over medium to long duration.
The mouthfeel is light, medium-crisp and light-tart. It's also a bit vinous, medium-dry and somewhat spritzy. Attractive!
This is my first ever Australian Brut IPA. I already had one Brut IPA in Australia but it was from New Zealand. I'm happy that I also got one from Australia!Β π¦πΊπ¦π¨
