I got this beer at very good.price due to a glitch and a lack of concern. $4 for a 4 pack of tall cans.
As I work in the yard repairing a fence during a heavy snowfall, my mind drifts like the heavy flakes. As usual it wanders to beer. I begin thinking back on some recent reviews I read and realize that pint please is like a travel wishlist for me. And if wishes were airmiles I'd be raising glasses with some of you.
About as close to holiday as I'm going to get today is having a hazy ipa. Hoping the tropical notes take me away.
Journey on.
This golden orange beer completely owns it medium hazy appearance. Not a massive head but it builds one and it does fall back into and maintains a thin layer that lasts.
A very fresh and bright citrus fruit forward aroma lightens the spirits. Orange, grapefruit, peach, and at least one other fruit that I cant recall the name of, possibly kumquat. Definitely some minor piney notes.
The flavour is quite similar. Bright, refreshing, a bit bitter mostly presenting as citrus. There is some maltinessbut it just barley tames the hops and remains well buried under the hops. As it warms a bit the malt gains some.backbone and the hops.move more into a pine resin kind of taste.
This is a tasty well built hazy ipa. And a lovely escape after all.
