Tasting paddle 2/4.
Opaque, black beer with decent, short-lived carbonation unlocks a fawn, silky head that decorates the drink basically throughout the entire drink.
The olfactory package is surprisingly weak, displaying merely distant licorice and and a herbal note.
The tongue receives hefty licorice with a distinct herbal twist, a little bit of strong black coffee and burned malt. The body is light-medium to medium. The beer ends with bitter licorice, a tad cough syrup, some aniseed and a herbal punch. The aftertaste lingers in mouth for a rather long time.
The mouthfeel relatively strong, dry, somewhat burned and slightly ashy. It's also herbal and medicinal.
