Brut Force Champagne IPA, Canada
4.2
One of my favourite ways to get things done is through brute force and ignorance. This beer claims the brut force so I'll throw in my ignorance of it and let's see if we can get this job done. As the glass fills with a lightly cloudy pale straw colored beer, a lively and bright white head is released. It is quite loosely packed and active. The champagne yeast really makes this an effervescent brew. The fruitiness of the aromas is much more prevalent than I had anticipated. Large portions of pine, grapefruit, and some delicate tropical notes ride the sparkling carbonation and fill the sinus with delightfully strong scents. The flavours are very similar to the nose and are as dry as I'd hoped. Grapefruit pith, pine, and a nice gentle blend of tropical and citrus. There is an almost oaty malt flavour that seems to add some body to this otherwise dry IPA. Bitterness is plentiful but not overly strong. I'm quite enjoying these brut IPAs.
