Beer #999. Never thought Guinness would bourbon barrel age a beer. Let's see how this is. Nice bourbon aroma. Some oak from the barrel aging is present as well. This is the Antwerp Stout barrel aged, and since I've never had that one, I can't compare it. That's about all I'm getting in the aroma. Taste has a mellow bourbon first, followed by oak and vanilla from the stay in the barrels. Some caramel as well. Not sure how this compares to the Antwerp Stout, but I do enjoy this one. My new favorite Guinness. Medium+ body with an appropriately lower carbonation for a higher abv stout. High 4/5
One thing that I will mention, that doesn't affect my score, is that this is incredibly expensive. ~$24 for a 4-pack. For this reason, I only bought a single bottle.
Merry Christmas everyone!
