Bourbon, chocolate, caramel and oak in the aroma. Taste has bourbon first, followed by caramel, chocolate oak from the barrel aging, roasted malts and slight coffee. This is delicious. I really enjoyed the base beer and I feel that aging it in bourbon barrels really takes this to the next level. The bourbon is there without being overwhelming, the chocolate and caramel add a nice sweetness and the roasted malts and coffee add enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. Very well made and one my new favorite brown ales. 4.25/5
