Citrus Pale Ale, England

Golden hue in appearance and a misleading aroma...it actually smells like an average pale, which it isn't. I'm sure I've had this beer by the capable four pure before. I believe it was in Tesco in a different can and it was ok. This time round though, maybe it's my more discerning pallette or maybe the beers actually worse, I don't know, but it's not good. The can boasts the ingredients as water, barley, hops and...wait for it...orange flavouring. Brewers like unbarred often use additional ingredients for their beers and to great effect. Like actual mango juice or high end cold brew coffee. This four pure citrus pale ale has well and truly gone down the cheap and uncheerful route. Poor to average ale with some orange squash shoved in there. And I'm not joking when I say you can taste the orange squash, as its own separate entity. A light and washed out pale ale with orange concentrate on the back end. Take a green king IPA and pour a bit in your kids squash and you've got yourself this m&s brew. Don't bother. Maybe four pure aren't capable.
