I didn't know what a winter IPA was but you know I have to find out. So into the shopping cart with you. Displays lovely amber red colour decorated with a standard issue head. The nose instantly knows why this is a winter IPA, sweet orange, and cinnamon mingle politely with citrus and tropical fruit hops notes. There is smiley earthy spiciness to it as well. Then I read the can and it all comes together, rye, orange peel, and cinnamon. Lovely scent. Lovely taste too, wow. A perfect IPA style bitterness is blatant and enjoyable. It showcases orange, cinnamon, and rye perfectly. The cinnamon really increases as the sip settles in. The orange is fantastic. A gentle resinous pine from the hops tops of the winter effect in style. Very tasty. I dig it.
