Triple Dry Hopped Lager, Canada
3.0
Once upon an 8pm and thirty, while I pondered bleak and thirsty over many a faint and spurious volume of lousy pour, As I sampled, merely sipping, suddenly the barman smiled tipping, A beer til the last drop was dripping, dripping into the glass that I adore. "This is good," I muttered sipping at the glass that I adore, "I'll take this and then one more. As Halloween winds down here it's time for my treats. With fireworks going off all around and some creepy shows on tv I'm hoping this beer won't be a horror show. It pours a mildly enticing golden colour and has evidence of being amply carbonated with slowly rising bubbles evenly dispersed all through the glass. It maintains a ghostly white 5mm thick foam made of nice small tightly packed bubbles. Olfactory explorations are rewarded with fragrances of passionfruit, grapefruit, and a general impression of tropical fruit along with faint suggestion of pine. I detect a light malt aroma that seems to contain pale and light caramel. The body is light, clean and thin. The maltiness all but disappears, and the hops infusions are disappointing. I didn't expect bitterness and there isn't any but for a triple dry hopped beer I believed it would pack substantial flavour. The fruitiness is present and the gentle pine and resin comes through along with a grassy taste that is not misaligned with dry hopping. Its drinkable and MILDLY pleasant. Caps because that is what the beer is, mild. I guess this was more trick than treat. I dont hate it but it puts the boo in..... well... boo.
