Jokseenkin hiilihapoton, omenainen ja hapan. Saisonmainen.

Alvarinho Grape Ale, Portugal
3.8

Alvarinho Grape Ale, Portugal

@ OlutExpo 2018. Cloudy, deep golden beer with modest carbonation releases a white, tiny-bubbled head that reaches mere half a finger's height and settles down rapidly to a frazil-icy lacing. The fragrance displays bags of medium-sour grape, loads of very sour apple and raw gooseberry. Wild yeast is surprisingly hefty. An interesting nuance of white wine barrel lingers in the shadows. The taste is substantially vinous, especially medium-dry fruity white wine is really dominant on the tongue. White or green grapes pushy forward truly persistently, accompanied by strong sour raw apple, raw gooseberry and wild yeast. Aging could do a lot to this beer, now this is relatively raw and sharp. The light-bodied beer ends with really sour grapes and especially the aroma of white wine. Apple accompanies grapes, so does wild yeast. The aftertaste has a relatively long duration. The mouthfeel is light, truly vinous, strongly tart and gardeny. It's also relatively strong, a bit sharp, puckering and massively dry.
