After a few sidesteps, the time has finally come to open door #20 of my Advent Calendar. The beer colors oily black. The timid, rapid carbonation unleashes a cappuccino-colored, cotton lace ring. The ring remains more or less unchanged for long. The head is so low that it leaves only a couple of minuscule spots on the glass. The nose loves the rather hefty dark chocolate and cacao nibs that are soaked in a dollop of Bourbon and seasoned with delicate vanilla. The taste receptors anticipate a powerful chocolate punch. Chocolate, indeed, is relatively strong and very dark, with a high raw chocolate content. Bourbon is first recognizeable, very quickly hefty, and after keeping the sip in the mouth for a short while, it becomes oppressive. Cacao beans, a decent injection of vanilla and a smash of wet oak barrel bring in their diverse nuances to the package. The body is medium to medium-full. Only. The beer ends with dark chocolate, a good pour of Bourbon and a nice injection of raw cacao powder. Vanilla has died away. The aftertaste offers the tastebuds young whisky but goes quickly hiding. The mouthfeel is powerful, strongly barrel aged and woody. It's also relatively round, recognizeably alcoholic and warming. The mouthfeel is also oily but only medium-full.

På näsan är första tanken Julmust... eller kanske påskmust 🤔 I munnen landar kakao, fast, inte så det dammar. Gött, och en bra efterrätt...

Pullotettu 17.10.17. Mustaa, nopea vaahtoista olutta. Vaahto vaikuttaa jopa vähän "äkäiseltä" sihistessään pois. Tuoksuu kovasti tynnyrille ja kahville. Maku on kevyen tynnyrinen ja suklainen. Aika kevyt, borderline vetinen 😳 pehmeä ja niukka. Tynnyröinti maistuu todella paljon, niin paljon, että muita makuja on välillä hankala löytää. Vaimo meinasi, että todella paljon maistuu bourbon, minua se ei haittaa, mutta saisi tässä jokin muukin maistua. Ihan selkeä pettymys tämä, kuitenkin ihan hyvä olut. Pitää varmaan se French Toastikin lähiaikoina maistella jos eivät ole tämän kummempia.
