Maukas startti. Marjainen. Kevyt.

Ohut vaahto kerros.

A third and this time my last 15 cl portion for tasting @ Pien. The beer pours lucid, almost glowing, strawberry-nectar-colored. The introvert, rapid carbonation settles a rushed, clean white lace ring on top. It probably goes without saying that the head leaves no marks on the glass. The fragrance gives the impression that tartness is coming, just wait! I get a nice injection of Brett, some redcurrant and rowanberry as well as a suggestion of sherry, accompanied by a remote leathery nuance. The tongue receives a strong sour punch just like I anticipated. However, tartness is by no means exaggerated but rather manageable. I pick sour cherry, rowanberry and a little injection of redcurrant. The vinous note is vague but points cautiously to thin red wine. The body is light. The beer finishes with sour rowanberry and redcurrant, amended by a drop of sour cherry. The red wine is still watery but raises its head above the surface. The wildness or Brett are well camouflaged in the aftertaste that rolls on tongue for quite some time. The mouthfeel is tart and relatively puckering, quite light as well as a little bit vinous. It's also rather flat, substantially dry, acidic as well as strongly mouth-drying.
