Back to the bottle, another new label, same old beer?
I like the new minimalist design. Pours well and leaves a golden yellow body, with a slight amber hue. It has plenty of carbonation and half a finger of white foam that held its own for long enough.
Scents of pine resin and sweet biscuit malt at first before moderate fruit profiles roll in. Lychee and melon are prominent with a slight mango profile hanging around in the background.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, leaning on light. Not thin but lacking a little bit of the heft that it used to have. The carbonation holds out for a considerable time and makes itself know until the last.
Taste leans into the realm of bitter and pale. Other profiles are present but they don't hold as much of a balance. Pale malt upfront, with the biscuit malt rolling in after but with a reduction in its sweet note. The melon and lychee are overwhelmed but contribute a slight sweetness to help take the edge off the malt.
Nice return to form, good show from the lads in Eight Degrees.
