This edition of Surtur was aged in Scottish Islay whisky casks, giving it heretofore unknown levels of strength – the iron fist of a Jötunn in a black velvet glove.
Surtur is named after Surtr (Old Norse for "black" or "the swarthy one”) a devil giant in Norse mythology foretold as being a major figure during the events of Ragnarök.

Lähes tasan vuosi sitten tuli arvosteltu tämä sama olut 3:n tähden arvoiseksi. Kyllä tämä enemmän ansaitsee. Islay wiskin turpeisuus ja savuisuus tulee kieltämättä erittäin runsaana esiin, mutta makeaa maltaisuuttakin löytyy tasapainottamaan kokonaisuutta. Jälkimaku on hieman kuivahkon lakritsainen ja tumma suklainen.
