This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style, once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specially roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

I've had this put away for quite a while but it's time to enjoy it. Developed a late night craving for a sweet dessert Stout while watching the World Cup.
Very nice creamy dark tan head that's lasting. Aroma adds dark roasted malt, traces of chocolate. Flavor is a smoky char roasted malt full of bitter dark chocolate. Some dark stone fruit in the background. The smoky char still dominates with its earthy bitter characteristic straight through the finish. Texture is medium, not as heavy as you would expect from this powerful brew. As it warms the finish turns decidedly toward prunes and the bitter dark chocolate has now outlasted the smoky char.
Not many beers that I have had handle the Smoky quality in a way that I like. This one balances the smoke with the dark chocolate and prunes so they compliment each other. Well done.

I love a good stout and this one hits all the right spots with its rich, chocolate taste.

Delicious, strong dark chocolate with a slight toffee sweetness. Coffee flavours in the background. Lovely.

Five years ago great beer with original label. This Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is a hit and miss, the complexity is somber, and taste a little, overall not a bad stout but could be better.

Un Imperial Sout à la base maltée torréfiée, aux magnifiques notes chocolatées, une pointe caféinée, quelques notes de pruneaux, on a une belle petite amertume, c'est puissant, bien équilibré, vraiment trés bon.
