Definitely a smoky porter. Heavy taste and thick, smoky, coffee-esk aroma. Surprisingly easy to drink after a bit!

Only had a light lunch so fancied something a bit heavy for a mid-afternoon liquid snack... I am disappointed overall because I was expecting a Baltic porter, a flavour profile that should be possible even with smoked malts. This falls well short, but despite that, it’s a solid smoked Porter. Smokiness isn’t overpowering, it isn’t in the leagues of Schlenkerla, it’s quite subtle. A robust porter lurks behind the smoke. Dark malt bitterness, some sweetness and subtle coffee hints.
