Deez nuts

I think this is my first ever hazelnut beer. It’s nice, just not as chocolatey as I was expecting. I guess I’m thinking Nutella and in all honesty that level of depth would only come from a bigger beer. Still, it’s nice, hazelnuts steal the show both in aroma and flavour. There’s a creamy background and some roasty notes coming through too. Ditch the lactose and this would get guzzled by the bucket load.

Very good hazelnut milk stout from Mad Squirrel. Hazelnuts are the star with a strong smell and flavour paired with a bit of creamy lactose. The percentage let’s it down somewhat, more body would have been superb. As is at least you could drink a few.
