Last beer of the night. A super strong 13.7% Prairie Artisan Ales Stout. The aroma in the glass is so alcohol heavy. Not much head, opaque brown and seemed heavy pouring from the bottle. Taste is intensely bourbon and the barrel flavor is forefront. The 13.7% seems much higher and dominates the early flavor. A rich deep malt chocolate flavor follows with apparent notes of a mixture of coconut and vanilla. As the finish arrives, none of the flavor recedes. The intensity of the bourbon alcohol, chocolate malt, coconut and vanilla all continue to attack the senses. The flavors are excellent but the overall experience is dominated by the intense Bourbon Barrel alcohol which never relinquished its dominant flavor. I've had many beers where an intense alcohol was detrimental but this was a showcase on how to present a dominating Bourbon Barrel flavor while allowing the other flavors to be enjoyed and appreciated.

Olut on täysin mustaa, hyvin ohuella vaaleanruskealla vaahtokerroksella. Tuoksu on hyvin bourboninen, maltainen, kookoksinen, maltainen, suklainen, vaniljainen, saaristolaisleipäinen, hieman rukiinen, mausteinen ja aavistuksen hedelmäinen. Runko on täyteläinen, pehmeä, hiilihappoinen ja makea. Maussa on runsaasti suklaata, mallasta, bourbonia, bourbonin hedelmäisyytä, vaniljaa, karamellia, mausteita, hieman kookosta, saaristolaisleipää ja aavistus luumuja. Oikein mukava imppi ja näin kokemattomana Prairien oluiden suhteen oli kyllä mukava törmätä tähän näinkin lähellä. Kieltämättä odotukset oli ehkä turhankin korkealla, koska tämän runko sai aikaan pienen pettymyksen. Ei ollut aivan niin öljyisen oloinen, kuin olisin uskonutkin, vaikka makua kyllä riittää todella paljon. Silti kuitenkin kokeilun arvoinen.

2019 vintage, 13.7% abv Beer #1600! Bourbon galore in the aroma. Dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and a little bit of coconut as well. Taste has coconut first, immediately followed by bourbon and vanilla. More subtle notes of chocolate, raisins and plums follow. Aftertaste of bourbon and raisins mostly. The body is full without being overly thick and with an appropriately lower amount of carbonation. Leaves a stickiness on the lips after each sip. This is phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. If the coconut that's advertised was more prominent, this would be a 5 star beer. It's there at first, but quickly fades, so I'll give this a 4.75/5
