Helvick Gold
4.9% Irish Ale
A refreshing blonde ale generously hopped to give bitterness and aroma that packs a punch. Our blonde ale is not a bland ale, there is a complexity at play here with a fruity aroma balanced by a hoppiness that makes it a slightly challenging but still quite easy to drink beer. Helvick is a great summer’s day drink, perfect for cracking out at the barbeque. Enjoy at cellar temperature (8—14°C) or cooler for a great warm weather thirst quencher. It’s an excellent beer to pair with food and works particularly well with spicy food. As with all our beers Helvick Gold contains a vitamin-rich yeast sediment in the bottle which is a by-product of the natural carbonation that occurs in the bottle. To pour a clear pint, pour out in one go and leave the last drop in the bottle. However, this is purely for aesthetic reasons and the sediment is absolutely fine to drink.

Not sure if this was from a bad batch or maybe I simply don't appreciate bottle conditioned beers but couldn't drink it.

A sample received from Pint Please. Blond ale. Haven't had these properly in years. Not that widely available, I guess. Best before 12/21. Label goes with same traditional sense as previous one, this time there's no info about hops and malts used. Could've used that since this claims to have piney and citrusy flavours with hop bite. Not a label or style to grasp my eye, really. Though blue color is nice. Golden see-through color with lot of foam. Foamed bit too much for my liking. Scent is malty, crisply hopped and slightly tropical. Bit too grainy and has some bitterness. Taste has malty grain, to the extent that you'd think you're drinking a lager. Hops kinda get backgrounded. Least it tastes kinda good. British ale flavour to it. Slight citrus. Bit off flavour perhaps. Body is crisp, carbonated but not overly as I feared at first, nicely dry and bitter in balance. Causes burping, so bit too carbonated after all. Golden ale? More of a better lager. But it's ale.. So, a cream ale. Yup. No faults in taste, good refresher after a day's work.

Foam is very strong in you my young padawan! Theres some citrus fruits in the scent and taste but overall this is more bitter than I expected. I’d say this would be better enjoyed with food. Now I had it while working 😄 Ok beer in overall. I really like the label on this one.👌🏻

Tämä olut on juotava, mutta laimea maultaan. Lagermiesten makuun. Etiketti oluessa on hieno. Ei hopheadille!
