Ollut kellarissa reilut pari vuotta(10/19). Ei ole ihan älytöntä kehumista saanut tuolloin tuoreena täällä. Katsotaan miten kehittynyt. Onhan tässä tuota kaakaota, sekä lakritsia, vähän likööriä, makeutta ja suklaata. Hieman tylsyneen oloiset maut. Jättää ihan kivan lämmön rintaan, mutta ei tässä onneksi alkoholi puske läpi maussa. Kyllä tämä ihan toimii, mutta ei säväytä.

Interesting, strange taste but tasty

Door #17 of my Advent Calendar sets the time bomb ticking. 💣 Impenetrable, deep dark brown beer with timid, hasty carbonation releases a chocolate-tinted, silky head that barely reaches half a finger's yardstick. The foamy layer melts soon to a neat lace ring circling the surface. I can only detect a couple of minuscule spots on the wall of the glass. The scent displays, first and foremost, coarse Bourbon barrel. I can also find raw cacao powder and faint brown sugar. Generally speaking, the fragrance is simple and rather one-dimensional. The gustatory provision is really strong and boozy: I get hefty sharp Bourbon and a lot of accompanying barrel aromas. Powerful licorice brings in its own distinct nuance. Raw cacao beans and cacao powder follow in the immediate proximity. The simplicity and one-dimensionality seem to carry over from the fragrance to the taste. Although the beer is palatable, this straighforwardness unfortunately erodes the credibility of the brewery. The body is full. The beer finishes with edgy wet oak barrel, sharp young Bourbon and quickly hiding nuances of raw cacao nibs. The boozy tang continues powerfully towards the end. The aftertaste polishes the tastebuds chemically over medium duration. The mouthfeel is strong, boozy and relatively sharp. It's also full and somewhat lip-glueing. Overall, rather simple and predictable, fairly decent but admittedly a disappointment in comparison to what I anticipated.

Tämmöstä lasissa tänään. Odotan olevan jokseenkin suunmukaista. Kehuja saanut. Tuoksu on kahvisen kaakaomaisen suklainen, hennon lakritsinen ja karamellimaisen toffeinen. Maisteluhommiin ryhtyessä, makunystyrät valtaa ensin mukava maitosuklaisuus, hento kermaisuus, jonka jälkeen hierotaan tunteella kaakaopapuja ties minne, ja sieltä vedetään tiukan neulansilmän kautta kaffekupposen ääreen. ☕ Itselle miellyttäviä makujen pyörremyrskyjä on suussa meneillään siis. Alkomahooli on myös piilotettu erittäin hienosti. 👌 Tosi hyvä. Makeutta, pyöreyttä ja viipyilevää makua tähän jäi kuitenkin vähän kaipaamaan.

Pehmeän pyöreä, makeahko. Paahteisuutta ja pientä suklaa/kaakaomaisuutta. Myös pientä jälkikitkeryyttä. Tämä oli toinen purettu pommi ja kahvi versio oli kyllä parempi, mutta ei tämäkään mikään huono ollut.
