Murky, dark brown beer with ruby tint flows from tap. One-finger, cream-colored, intense silky head adorns the surface for a substantially long time, then melting down to a thin lacing. The retreating foam leaves an almost uniform lace cover on the side of the glass, then breaks down into cobweb-like mosaic. A visible lace ring hovers on top throughout the entire drink.
The nose receives first rather mild aromas that, however, get thicker in concert with the gradually increasing temperature of the beer. The key nuances include rather hefty caramel, toffee, sweet brown bread and faint molasses.
The tongue loves the aromas of semisweet dark malt, medium-dark bread and bitter caramel that are further seasoned by raisin and a suggestion of date and a nutty note.
The medium-bodied beer finishes with somewhat bitter-crisp caramel hoppy aftertaste that, over time, gain also a pinch of spruce needles. The tastebuds are busy with the aftertaste remnants for a significantly long time.
The mouthfeel is a bit dry and medium-crisp but also decently soft and, unexpectely, remotely lip-glueing.
