OUTER DARKNESS
A Russian Imperial Stout is one of the most intensely flavored beers a brewer can create. The combination of rich roasted barley, oak, molasses and liquorice root combine to create an utterly unique and complex imperial stout.

Having a Duo beer with my son-in-law in Texas. We enjoy comparing notes on simultaneous tastings of the same beer. Lots of fun.
Has the expected opaque dark brown color of an imperial stout. Sniffer glass exposes a slight alcohol and very roasted quality. Head is full, dark chocolate in color, and has the small bubbles of a nitro. Texture is very creamy. Starts out bitter and very roasted malt. Roasted almost to the point of charred. At first, all I get is the robust roasted malt, very dry. Then the finish brings forth an intense dark chocolate, notes of licorice, and the alcohol booziness of a 10.5% brew. As the contents of the sniffer glass recedes, the alcohol aroma becomes much more intense.
This beer has characteristics that change as you drink it. I enjoy that quality.
