From the Bottle: Triticale is a hybrid of wheat (triticum) and rye (secale) which adds a delicate note of spice and a fuller, richer body to this saison. Lemon peel, szechuan peppercorns, and a touch of Blackberry make for a complex brew, while the yeast adds a refreshing tartness with aromatic esters.

As I pour this into the glass I'm intimidated by the carbonation which seems more than enough, consequently it also releases a foamy white massive head that even after falling is still a generous centimeter.
The nose is treated to a splendid bouquet of aromas. Fruity, almost citrus notes, yeast esters, wheaty goodness, rye spice and possibly phenols too. Absolutely delightful.
The mouth and tongue are equally given an amazing banquet of tastes. It begins with a gentle tartness but immediately peppercorns make themselves known. A deep rich savoury taste that includes wonderful spice notes building on the szechuan peppercorns and adding the rye and wheat. An almost earthy maltines helps let the gentle fruitiness showcase itself with lemon and yeast esters.
It's very hard to judge the body with so much going on here, but it finishes crisp and slight dry. This.may sound a bit outlandish but there is a taste that my mind wants to describe as fern fiddleheads sauteed in hefeweizen and pepper. I don't know if that's a thing but it should be. This is a fantastic beer.
